The Journal of East Asia and International
Law
aims to provide a forum for legal scholars and practitioners of East Asia and elsewhere to discuss the broad range of issues relating to East Asia. The Board of Editors invites submissions of manuscripts which analyze either East Asian affairs with a viewpoint of international law or general international legal questions from an East Asian perspective. We encourage the widest possible diversity of opinion.
Timing
We accept submissions on a rolling basis. The Journal publishes twice a year, in May and November. Submissions should be received by March 1 for Spring issue consideration, or by September 1 for Fall issue consideration.
Requirements
The Board of Editors will only consider material which complies with
the following:
- Journal of East Asia and International Law is committed to publishing cutting-edge, provocative, and thoughtful works. The submission should be an original, unpublished and not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Long articles should not exceed 12,000 words, excluding footnotes. The Journal recommends the authors to analyze a fundamental and creative issue for the long article.
- A submission of less than 6,000 words may be considered for the 'Comments and Notes' section, or students contributions. We also welcome submissions of book reviews and new books in the international law field that publishers would like considered for review. Please send manuscripts and books to the address undermentioned.
- A short (100-150 words) abstract of the article should be supplied. We reserve the right to edit abstracts for length and style.
- Authors should state their present academic or professional affiliation and indicate any professional or personal involvement in the subject matter of the article. p
- Citations should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed. 2005). For the citation style, please visit: http://www.law.cornell.edu/citation
- Each manuscript should be written in double-spaced/12 font in Microsoft Word format (.doc) or Rich Text format (.rtf). Submissions in Word format should be Microsoft Office (97, 2000, and 2003) for Windows and Microsoft Office for Mac 2004. Authors should provide brief biographical data including current institutional affiliation, academic career and other contacting address/numbers.
